Ad Budget Calculator

Updated August 1, 2026

How much should you spend on ads? Work it backwards from your goal. Enter how many orders you want a month, your website's conversion rate and your cost per click, and this estimates the daily and monthly budget you need.

Calculate your ad budget

Recommended daily budget

$17.5

Monthly budget

$525

To hit 30 orders at a 2% conversion rate you need about 1,500 clicks a month.

How the ad budget is calculated

The math runs backwards from your goal: clicks needed = target orders ÷ conversion rate, then budget = clicks × cost per click. Want 30 orders a month at a 2% conversion rate? That's 1,500 clicks; at a $0.35 CPC, about $525 a month, or ~$18 a day.

It's an estimate, not a promise — real cost per click and conversion rate move with your audience, creative and season. Treat the number as a starting budget and adjust once you have live data.

How to set a realistic starting budget

Give the algorithm room to learn — a budget so small it produces only a handful of conversions a week never exits the learning phase and performs erratically. Aim for enough daily spend to generate a steady flow of results.

Use your real numbers where you have them — your own conversion rate and CPC from past campaigns beat any benchmark. If you're starting cold, be conservative on conversion rate and expect CPC to settle over the first week or two.

Once ads are live, keeping budget on the campaigns that actually convert — and off the ones that don't — is exactly the ongoing decision Geniusko automates on Meta.

Frequently asked questions

How much should I spend on Facebook ads?

Work backwards from your goal: orders ÷ conversion rate gives the clicks you need, and clicks × CPC gives the budget. The calculator above does this — enter your target orders, conversion rate and cost per click.

What is a good starting budget for ads?

Enough to leave the learning phase — a budget that yields only a few conversions a week performs erratically. Many small advertisers start in the $15–$50/day range and adjust once they see real cost per result.

Why is my actual budget different from the estimate?

Because cost per click and conversion rate change with your audience, creative, offer and season. The calculator gives a planning figure; your live campaign data is the source of truth to adjust against.
